Duties

Reviews correspondence for compliance with agency correspondence directives.,Plan subordinate work schedules on a weekly, project, or longer basis, to assure an even flow and distribution of work, expeditious handling of priority cases, and meeting of schedules and deadlines.,Assign employees to positions based on selective consideration of such factors as difficulty and requirements of assignments, availability, capability, and special qualifications of employees, and other resources available.,Perform the following technical duties as they pertain to IT Project Management: identifies requirements; develops/modifies/provides input to project plans; implements plans to meet objectives.,Provide advice and guidance to managers, technical specialist, networking and cyber security systems planners, acquisitions personnel, and user organizations regarding systems and network management.,Define operating criteria, monitors installation, and monitors testing to determine the quality and efficiency of communications equipment and software.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions Qualifying Experience: For the GG-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GG-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GG-12 if outside the Federal service, is required. Qualifying experience is defined as Experience Leading a team of IT professionals, managing tasks and experience/proficiency with written and oral communication. Also, experience developing strategic plans and policy in support of organizational cyber activities. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of the competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education

There is no substitution of education for the specialized experience requirement at this grade level. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application. Other Information

This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service. A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service. A one year probationary period may be required. Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement. We may use this announcement to fill additional vacancies within 90 days of the closing date. Moving costs may be paid. Recruitment, relocation, or retention incentives may be authorized. This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency. The incumbent may also be required to physically report to an alternate duty station during the activation of a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan. Under normal conditions, shift work or alternate schedule is not required. During time of crisis or to meet mission needs, shift work or alternate schedule may be needed. This position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications and Residential Qualifications in accordance with the DOD 8140 policy series.
