Role and Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Coordinator reports to the Controller and is responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to accounts payable (AP). The position involves verifying invoices and obtaining management approval for payment, processing weekly AP payments, reconciling vendor statements, and maintaining accurate records of accounts payable activity. This position will be in the Burton Oil Service Operations Corporate office in Tyler.
Responsibilities include:
- Verify invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Data entry of invoices into QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Process weekly AP payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain accurate records of AP activity.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Research and answer vendor inquiries.
- Data entry into MS Access database for further reconciliation of recoverable expenses.
- Provides administrative support to the accounting and human resources departments.
- Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.).
- Maintains a safe and positive work atmosphere.
- Collaborates effectively with other Burton Oil Service Operations departments.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance, and adheres to other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.
- Provides support and cross-training of accounting team members.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
- A high school diploma and relevant experience, or an associate degree in accounting or a related field without experience.

Work/Environment and Physical Requirements (with or without an accommodation)
- Office environment, using computer, telephone, other office equipment as needed to perform duties, frequent interruptions throughout the day likely.
- Essential: continuous sitting, wrist turning, grasping, pinching, and finger manipulation, frequent turning and twisting, and occasional reaching.
- Occasionally required to lift or carry up to 20 lbs. push/pull occasionally required for up to 10 lbs.
- Hearing and vision (both correctable) are essential.
