Job Summary
City Brewery's Memphis team is seeking a Packaging Maintenance Manager to join their production leadership team. This role is responsible for the day to day maintenance routines of our Packaging lines while also managing long term preventative maintenance programs, CAPEX projects, and process improvements across the department. The Packaging Maintenance Manager mentors, coaches, and develops a team of technicians and supervisors who support the growing operations of the Memphis location.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs repair and maintenance of all packaging equipment, including annual overhaul schedule
- Develops and maintains SOPs for all related packaging maintenance procedures
- Provides real-time feedback and coaching to Packaging Maintenance department as well as formal annual performance reviews
- Partners with the Learning and Development team to establish training initiatives and identify new opportunities for development
- Enforces safety procedures and policies across both department and work site
- Works with Safety department and HACCP Coordinator to facilitate training and compliance with Federal, State and local regulations, requirements and codes
- Supports continuous improvement efforts in manufacturing processes to increase efficiencies
- Conducts daily information and shift change meetings to maintain
- Provides technical leadership to the department and company
- Maintains working knowledge and documentation of equipment capacities
- Participates in commercialization process for new packages/products
- Recommends and oversees equipment modifications, upgrades and acquisitions
- Identifies capital needs focused on operational improvements within the department and submits formal requests/proposals for improvements
- Responsible for designing, scoping, and overseeing relevant projects from inception to completion including maintaining schedule and budget
- Troubleshoots and monitors equipment issues; provides recommendations for resolutions and follow through
- Manages onsite vendors, service techs, and contractors to ensure safety and compliance with HACCP and GMP practices
- Participates in interviewing and recruitment process to maintain appropriate headcount
- Establishes and manages annual budget for department
- Reviews weekly staffing and work priorities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, or related field
- 5 years maintenance management experience, preferably in high-speed food/beverage production
- Prior experience mentoring, coaching, and building large teams
- Prior experience leading large teams through significant workplace changes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience working within CMMS' and AMS' platforms
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment
