Position Summary
This position is a blend of hands on environmental education (50%) and service projects (50%). Afternoon, after-school sessions will be predominately environmental education based at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History; Saturday sessions will meet at the SCA office and will be predominately environmental service projects. This position intended to be an extension of the Pittsburgh Community Summer program, and priority is given to applicants who have successfully participated as members or leaders in that program.

September 30, 2025 - November 22, 2025
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Actively engage in environmental education activities and service projects lead by SCA staff and partner organizations. These projects include tree care and maintenance, habitat restoration, and trail work.

Arrive on time to all sessions Wear appropriate clothing Behave in a professional manner Be respectful of other members and staff
Required Qualifications
Current high school student between the ages of 14 - 18; Participants should have prior outdoor conservation experience, a desire to work outside in all weather conditions, and willingness to engage in team building activities. Must have the ability to legally work in the US. Ability to be at the CMNH in Oakland, by 4:00pm on Tuesday and Thursdays. Ability to be at the SCA office in the Hill District by 10:00am on Saturdays

Participants are responsible for their own housing.
Compensation
Wage: $15.00 hour; average of 10hours per week. Paid bi-weekly
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
