Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and recording medical history.
- Assist the physician during examinations and procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments are in place.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage office communications effectively.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and skin care processes.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within a clinical setting.
- Understanding of medical terminology and procedures relevant to dermatology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in a high-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and office software applications.
