Summary:

Support disabled or disadvantaged consumers in creating artwork. Serve as an art coach and provide art classes for adults, adolescents and children. Oversee the retail gallery of the facility and provide leadership for staff. Executes all special events as scheduled.

Job Responsibilities:

  1.   2. Communicate with all participants and stakeholders effectively and efficiently.
  3. Track progress of participants and document in electronic database any problems, progress, attendance, needs, etc. in a timely and thorough manner.
  4. Provide administrative support and direct coaching in Mission programs.
  5. Assist in planning, organizing, and executing events and workshops.
  6. Support individuals with disabilities or disadvantages in daily activities, promoting improved quality of life, independence, creativity and personal growth.
  7. Assist with inventory control, cleaning services and scheduling for all programs as assigned.
  8. Participate in meetings with the Director of Mission Services, Director of Missions Integration, and teammates as scheduled.
  9. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  10. Coordinate and provide service activities for those enrolled in Goodwill programs ensuring that established outcomes for participants are met.
  11. Learn how to maintains compliance with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facility (CARF) standards.
  12. All other duties as assigned.
  13. Learn responsibilities for:
  • Cash handling
  • Comment cards
  • Monthly Safety Site Inspection
  • Incident/Accident reports
  • Petty Cash and Expense Reports
  • Purchase and supply orders
  • Team Meetings
  • Transfer and Rotation Report
  • Required retail reports
  • Hiring employees
  • Work requests (Facility Maintenance and Information Support)

Required Education, Experience and Special Skills:

  • High school graduation (or equivalent) required.
  • Experience working with adults and adolescents with disabilities or disadvantages strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate common office equipment, electronic participant record and Microsoft Office software programs.
  • Detail oriented yet flexible enough to handle several tasks at same time.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with ability to excel in a progressive work environment with minimal supervision.
  • Customer service skills with ability to interact with participants, with basic knowledge of disabilities and disadvantages.

Certificates and licenses: Current Texas or Oklahoma driver's license (required). Prefer previous teaching experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl throughout the shift.

  • Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • Visual and auditory acuity necessary to perform job functions safely.
