We are recruiting a Senior Sales Director within our Food division, with responsibility for Kroger, Albertsons, and our Food Broker business for North America. The job is located in Cincinnati, with travel up to 25%.
The Senior Sales Director will lead our strategic customer partnerships and is accountable for:
- Delivering Operating Income, Profit, Share, and achieving sales fundamentals targets at Duracell Customers, at lowest possible cost
- Envisioning customers and executing the Duracell category value creation business model
- Delivering qualitative and quantitative Store Wide Strategy targets
- Leading a team of Key Account & Sales Managers, enabling them to deliver targets
S/he will understand and influence customer strategies and serve as Duracell’s face to the customer on all cross-functional issues. S/he allocates resources of the team to achieve best results and is responsible for developing each individual in her/his team
Responsibilities
Strategic Development & Execution
- Own and develop customer-specific brand strategies across the 4Ps (Product, Pricing, Promotion, Placement) in alignment with Duracell’s commercial priorities
- Deliver annual budget and monthly forecasts through collaboration with internal stakeholders and customer teams.
- Lead closure strategies and elevate in-store execution, integrating both headquarters and divisional perspectives.
- Ensure implementation of Duracell’s strategies at the Point of Sale to differentiate from competition and achieve sales and profitability targets.
Customer & Partner Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and internal teams (e.g., supply chain, marketing, finance) to ensure strategic alignment and operational excellence.
- Develop and lead Joint Business Plans (JBP) with customers to drive mutual growth and category leadership.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor direct reports, providing strategic direction and coaching to account executives for effective selling and execution.
- Promote development and succession planning within the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Location: Cincinnati, OH
- 8–10 years of experience in CPG account management and sales, preferably in consumer goods.
- Experience with syndicated data tools (Circana, Nielsen, NPD) is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation).
- Strong PowerPoint skills to create compelling, data-driven presentations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with both internal teams and external customers.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build collaborative relationships.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience managing 3rd Party Retail Brokers
