Job Description:As a Warehouse Supervisor at Guardant Health, you’ll play a critical role in supporting both our Clinical Laboratory Operations and Research Lab by ensuring the right levels of inventory are always available while managing and developing a team to meet operational goals. You’ll also serve as a back-up for Warehouse & Facilities management support and provide hands-on support to warehouse operators as needed.
This role requires a sharp eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. This role requires effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules, and the ability to work independently in a team environment. You’ll balance independence with collaboration, communicate clearly across teams, and model reliability and resilience in your day-to-day work. This is an in-person role that requires daily on-site presence at our facilities 5 days a week and may require supervising staff at multiple Guardant Health sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead all warehouse operational functions including but not limited to inbound, putaway, order fulfillment, outbound, cycle counts, and inventory maintenance to ensure compliance with standardized operating procedures and achievement of key performance indicators.
- Manage tracking of patient samples, including the sorting process.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels at multiple lab locations and ensure daily stocking of laboratories
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics; including overseeing shipping and follow up with carriers to prevent bottlenecks and delays
- Generate and maintain accurate inventory-related reporting for Finance and Supply Chain leadership
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members, including conducting performance assessments and managing disciplinary actions as needed
- Establish, track, and maintain performance metrics for direct reports to drive accountability and continuous improvement
- Identify and develop solutions for operational opportunities and process improvements.
- Act as a hands-on leader, providing backup and direct support for warehouse operators when needed.
- Author, maintain, and ensure compliance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Initiate, investigate, and complete NCRs (Nonconformance Reports) and CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions)
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders as a Subject Matter Expert to ensure service-level expectations are consistently met to drive improvements.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and lean principles across operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership skills with experience guiding teams toward operational targets
- Supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills and ability to partner across multiple business functions
- High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (expert in Excel) and ERP systems such as Oracle
- Previous experience in a laboratory or scientific environment preferred
For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $82,200 to $113,100. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
