This is a Senior Director-level position within PM Group, offering the opportunity to provide strategic thought leadership in Process Architecture to some of the world’s leading Life Science clients. The role centers on developing innovative, cutting-edge solutions and involves extensive client engagement, technical design leadership, and the mentoring of architectural teams within a highly collaborative environment.  This individual can be located out of out of any of our East Coast offices - Burlington MA, Conshohocken PA, or Apex NC.

 

Based in the United States, we are seeking a Senior Director, Process Architect Subject Matter Expert (SME) who is at the forefront of current and emerging Life Science facility design. This individual must be equally passionate about client interaction and the technical depth of the role. A strong command of Process Architectural design principles is essential, along with the ability to manage multiple complex, real-time projects. Success in this role requires a high level of professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results for PM Group clients as a trusted and collaborative colleague.

 

The Senior Director, Process Architect SME will work closely with other subject matter experts and project specialists across the organization. They will lead and execute the early phases of design, including initial programming, planning, feasibility studies, and concept development. In addition to technical leadership, this role includes mentoring and supporting the growth of less experienced architectural team members as they advance in their careers. Project scopes will vary, with a primary focus on Life Science industry work, encompassing both new construction and improvements to existing facilities.

:
  • SME Process Architect Technology Leader for Life Science Facility Design, at forefront of design evolution in your field
  • Develop, nurture and maintain strong relationships with our Client’s Architectural Technology Leadership Teams
  • Present PM Group qualifications to new and existing clients, participating in and leading client interviews and presentations
  • Develop impressive Project Proposals to secure new work
  • Liaise with PM Group Key account Management system and Leaders to maximize opportunity capture
  • Provide Life Science Facility Design Leadership to our teams across the US.
  • Develop Innovative cutting-edge Life Science Facility design solutions for our clients
  • Meet with clients to assess needs and develop an associated project program
  • Develop front end conceptual designs coordinating with all design team members
  • Liaison with global key accounts as appropriate
  • Collaborate with the PM Group USA senior leadership to develop distinctive value propositions that enhance our clients’ competitive position
  • Leverage corporate networks to identify existing capabilities that respond to client requirements and objectives as well as create a distinct competitive advantage
  • Engage with an existing global network of other Subject Matter Experts and assist in the training and mentoring of next generation of PM Group Subject Matter Experts
  • Represent PM Group at networking events and conferences
  • Present and interface with clients and facilitate workshops
  • Act as an SME in early project phases - site master planning, feasibility, concept and front-end phases
  • Once a project is acquired, deploy SME knowledge and expertise to help develop solutions for client’s business and project needs
  • Produce and/or check early phase project deliverables
  • Take responsibility for discipline related internal and external project communications and coordination
  • Travel to Project meetings / workshops as required
  • Technically assist project teams as required
  • Participate in Peer Reviews of work performed by others and other companies
  • Participate and/or chair technical design reviews as appropriate
  • Mentor junior architectural staff and assist with their professional development
  • Special projects as needed
:
  • A Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture degree from an accredited college or university
  • NCARB Certification
  • 15+ years of Process Architecture experience at Lead or SME level within the life sciences industry
  • Registered Architectural licensure (RA) in practicing states
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to work within a multi-discipline team environment
  • Excellent commercial skills with the ability to manage projects to budget hours and commercial return targets as well as implement change management procedures
  • Experience participating in speaking engagements, presenting at industry events, writing papers, etc. (recognized in the industry as a Subject Matter Expert)
  • Knowledge of cGMPs, as they pertain to biotechnology, pharmaceutical, Cell & Gene therapy, etc. is preferred
  • LEED GA or AP is preferred
  • International experience is a plus
  • The flexibility and willingness to travel moderately to meet client and project requirements, speaking engagements, industry events, etc.
