JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing guest service that results in sales of gift shop merchandise and promotions. Will cashier, replenish stock, arrange displays, and provide information on Wildhorse Resort & Casino events.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide the highest level of customer service by using gift shop guest services standards which include greeting and acknowledging guests in a friendly manner, and using the customer’s name whenever possible.
- Promote customer satisfaction by coming out from behind the counter and engaging in conversation with customers.
- Assist guests by providing product knowledge on all merchandise sold in the Gift Shop.
- Operate cash register and process transactions within department guidelines for all approved payment methods.
- Responsible for maintaining an imprest bank including signing out and returning at the beginning and end of shift, including all accounting paperwork associated such as reconciling and monitoring daily sales.
- Will assist with checking in merchandise which includes pricing new merchandise and putting freight away in an organized manner.
- Maintains tidiness and organization of the Gift Shop by regularly cleaning and restocking merchandise as needed.
- Lift and maneuver heavy, bulky items onto shelving, including overhead when changing displays or replenishing products.
- Promotes a clean, safe, healthy work environment by using all equipment, tools, and materials safely.
- Knowledgeable of current marketing promotions and events to give accurate information to guests, including selling tickets to upcoming events.
- Promote internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior toward co-workers and supervisors.
- Handle guest inquiries and or concerns efficiently and cordially, referring difficult situations to the supervisor.
- Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
- Responsible for gift shop daily duties as assigned on daily duty task sheets.
- Promote teamwork through punctual, responsible attendance which includes promptness regarding breaks, meal periods, and reporting to the workstation.
- Promptly report all concerns to the supervisor.
- Will assist with inventory control, following established procedures, and assisting with quarterly inventory as assigned.
- Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six (6) months of cash handling and six (6) months of customer service experience.
- Stand for long periods: handle and maneuver bulky 50 lb. boxes; work in a noisy, smoky environment and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
- High school diploma or GED or 10 years experience.
- Effective communication skills – verbally provide instruction, respond to questions, and have exceptional interpersonal skills and abilities.
- Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
- Requires a criminal history clearance check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
