As a Senior Business Data Analyst on our Channel Management Team, the work you do will inform how we design, plan, implement, and assess various in-store and online growth initiatives for one of our largest retail partnerships. You will take an end-to-end view of business operations and finance, which requires strong data analytics, expertise with SQL and Tableau, as well as project management and financial planning capabilities.Your work will be used by APP’s account management and Field teams as well as by various cross-functional teams within the retail partner.This position provides opportunities to work on challenging projects with lots of variety in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You won’t get bored!
This is a hybrid role in which you will work from the retailer’s headquarters at least 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Uncovering new opportunities to optimize and grow the business through data driven insights. Exploring causes or trends to identify problems and developing action plans to address those opportunities. Inform and influence business decisions at client senior management levels through detailed product and sales analysis.
- Reporting: Tracking sales results on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Improving efficiency using automation tools to make information available on an ongoing and real-time basis. Providing summary level trends on a regular basis and detailed trend analysis when necessary.
- Financial Planning: Ensuring annual growth targets are tracked and achieved through strategic and near-term tactical planning and execution. Using sales data to create tactical action plans and long-term business plans. Driving aspects of business segment planning, including internal alignment from the top down, and external alignment with key client leaders.
- Project Management: Developing and owning project plans and stakeholder engagements for various channel initiatives. Tracking project performance, proactively addressing potential risks and communicating updates to all stakeholders in a timely manner.
- 2 -4 years of work experience as a business analyst, data analyst, consultant, or similar position
- Expertise with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and large data volumes is a must; experience using Python is a plus (but not required)
- Bachelorʼs Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field preferred
- Ability to draw conclusions from raw data then summarize results quickly and efficiently, while managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with Python is a major plus (but not required)
- Experience working for or with national retailers is a major plus (but not required)
