Overview
The Senior Accountant is a part time role responsible for assisting the finance, accounting, and compliance department in its day-to-day financial, accounting, and compliance related functions. The successful candidate for this role will have a STRONG background in accounting, external auditing, internal auditing, finance, journal entries, GAAP, federal grants, corporate compliance, etc. The preferred candidate will have a background in managing advanced projects, systems, teams, and issues for large accounting, finance, or compliance departments. The preferred candidate will have a strong background in federal grant compliance, grant accounting, and other non-profit accounting, finance, and compliance areas as well.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required: Advanced Accounting/Journal Entry/GAAP Experience.

MUST HAVE Bachelor's degree in Accounting from (AACSB Accreditation).
MUST HAVE STRONG/ADVANCED Excel Skills (Formulas, Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.)

Required: Basic Excel Skills (Formulas, Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.)
Required: Typing speed of at least 65 WPM. There may be a test during the interview process.
Must possess a strong attention to detail.
Required: 5 Years or More Experience working in accounting, finance, or administrative/professional environments where Financial Reporting, General Ledger maintenance, A/R, A/P, or related areas are processed and executed within the organization
Ability to work in a rapidly changing and fast paced environment
Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and journal entries
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP, Oracle, or related financial systems
Preferred: Experience working with Nonprofit Organizations
Preferred: Experience working with Quickbooks or Quickbooks Related Certifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven work experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Controller, Director of Finance, Director of Accounting, Director of FP&A or related position
Hands-on experience with entering transactions into an accounting system
Familiarity with MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas)
Familiarity with Accounting Softwares (Quickbooks or ERP Systems)
Demonstrable critical thinking skills when resolving issues/problems
Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting requirements
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well on a team, and a positive disposition
Ability to effectively collaborate with various departments within the organization
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Preferred: Journal Entry Skills (debits and credits - will be tested)
Preferred: Desire to grow and advance in finance/accounting career
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Additional Notes
This position is remote with occasional in-person meetings occurring in the Baltimore headquarters of Digital Harbor Foundation.
Role and Responsibilities
Supporting Accounting, Audit, and Related Infrastructure
Managing and leading projects related to finance, accounting, audit, and related issues.
Providing audit support for both external and internal audit engagements.
Supporting accounting and financial quality control standards and GAAP requirements.
Leading reconciliation of advanced GL related issues.
Revenue, expense, and trend analysis actions and projects.
Assisting with budget, financial analysis and related projects.Supporting services to a portfolio of projects across the organization.
Supporting grant accounting and financial services across the organization.
Compliance and Special Projects (UGG, Grant, and Corporate Compliance)
Manage and ensure compliance functions across the entity in inter-related ares
Designing and testing internal audit functions for the organization.
Designing and testing compliance functions for the organization.
Designing and testing grant related compliance functions for the organization.
Other Duties As Assigned by CFCO
Special Projects as assigned by CFCO related to Finance, Accounting, and Compliance

Compensation
Compensation for this part-time position is $43,000 - 45,000 annually commensurate with experience.
