About the role
The Brand Manager - Events is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing cohesive brand strategies across Tennis Australia’s full portfolio of events, including the Australian Open (AO), United Cup, Brisbane International (BI), Adelaide International (AI), and Hobart International (HI).
This role focuses on driving long-term growth and building a consistent, impactful brand presence locally and globally. As the custodian of Tennis Australia’s event brands, the Brand Manager works to align all branding initiatives with the organization’s strategic objectives, ensuring that campaigns, messaging, and activations resonate with diverse audience segments while maintaining brand integrity.
The role also involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including creative and media agencies, ticketing platforms, and global broadcast partners, to execute integrated marketing campaigns and maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints. By leveraging market insights and audience data, the Strategic Brand Manager ensures that all events are positioned as premier sports and entertainment experiences, driving engagement, loyalty, and commercial outcomes.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Masterbrand Strategy & Portfolio Planning - develop and maintain a comprehensive 5-year brand strategy roadmap that outlines the unique role and positioning of each event brand within the Tennis Australia ecosystem.
- Event Brand Development & Evolution - translate strategic thinking into compelling brand frameworks, including narrative development, tone of voice, and identity principles for each event. Ensuring brand identities remain culturally relevant and connected to existing and new audiences.
- Brand Health, Governance & Performance - Establish robust brand measurement frameworks that track awareness, sentiment, relevance, and preference across all event brands. Ensure brand governance is upheld across all touchpoints -from broadcast and signage to digital and physical environments.
- Strategic Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement - with internal team and external partners, agencies and collaborators
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- Demonstrated experience working with top-tier brands, with bonus points for navigating the complexity of large-scale event environments.
- Proven experience working with media and advertising agencies
- Excellent knowledge of brand measurement and tracking
- Good understanding of emerging brand and marketing trends, including developments in media
- Creative thinking, coupled with analytical rigour, to balance vision with feasibility to deliver meaningful impact
- Strong presentation and communication skills in both one-on-one & group settings
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
