We are currently seeking an Associate to join our Corporate Tax Services team in our Irvine or San Diego office in Fall of 2026.
The KBF Corporate Tax Services group is 100% focused on income tax accounting assistance, tax compliance, and tax consulting. This includes preparation and review of income tax provision calculations, income tax return preparation and review, assistance with day-to-day federal, state, and international tax matters that may arise, and the identification, design, and implementation of tax planning strategies. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review income tax provisions pursuant to ASC 740
- Initiate, monitor, and deliver tax provision and tax compliance services in a timely and accurate manner
- Proactively manage project deadlines to ensure delivery of work products based on client expectations and statutory deadlines
- Review work of interns and associates before submitting to the management team for review
- Openly communicate with partners, managers, and teams about the status, timeline, issues, and progress of projects, tasks, and associated budgets
- Stay current on changes within the profession and business environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree from an accredited college/university; bachelor’s is required but master’s is preferred
- On track to graduate with CPA eligibility (150 semester/225 quarter credit hour requirement) no later than June 2026
- Minimum 3.2 overall GPA preferred
- Strong ambition to become a Certified Public Accountant and a desire to pursue a career in Tax
- Motivated, quick learner with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Eligible to work in the U.S

The salary range for this position reflects various factors that influence compensation decisions, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, licensure, geographic location, and other organizational requirements. At KBF CPAs, it is uncommon for a candidate to be hired at the high end of the salary range, as compensation is based on the unique qualifications and circumstances of each individual. The estimated current pay range for this role is $36.06 to $41.83 per hour.
