Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Development: Design, implement, and refine complex manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, productivity, and consistency.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to manufacturing teams, mentoring junior engineers and acting as a subject matter expert for aerospace manufacturing methods.
  • Communication: Communicate technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences. 
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure new product designs are optimized for efficient manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Lead lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, improve workflow, and enhance production efficiency.
  • Tooling & Automation: Develop and implement tooling, fixtures, and automation strategies to streamline production processes and ensure repeatability.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with aerospace industry standards, including AS9100 and other customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify, prioritize, and execute process improvement projects that reduce costs, enhance safety, and improve overall product quality.
  • Project Management: Lead cross-functional project teams to implement new manufacturing technologies, launch new product introductions (NPI), and manage changes in production.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers and external partners to optimize material selection, component quality, and supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, processes, and industry standards (e.g., AS9100).
  • Extensive experience with CAD and CAM software, as well as manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Proven expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong project management experience, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining, composites, additive manufacturing, and automation technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Compensation Pay Range
