This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Austin Surf Club, set outside of Austin, TX.Austin Surf Club is looking for a Buyer Liason to support our project in Austin, TX. The Buyer Liason will manage buyer communications and process from the initial sale, through design and construction, and final turnover to Residential Services. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact and buyer liaison for all Developer product sales and semi-custom sales as assigned. Coordinate and participate in all buyer finish selection meetings, capturing requests for revisions and upgrades, working with construction to establish pricing, communicating the costs back with the buyer, and documenting approvals and distribution of information between departments.
Shepherd the buyer’s interior design process for developer product and semi-custom developer product, including buyer communication, schedule management, cost and process control, and coordination with all other related departments (sales, design, development, construction)
When requested, cooperate with Sales to meet with prospects, articulate the finish selections and the process, and discuss finish selection and architectural design options.
Document all buyer processes, revising or developing workflows as required.
Cooperate with the Design & Construction departments to support the buyer finish selection process, including organizing materials, collecting samples, capturing notes, organizing meetings, and providing other necessary departmental support as part of the team culture.
Manage the on-site project Design Center at the direction of the Director of Design, including the organization of existing selections, displays of materials and control samples, finish selection books and other required design elements.
Coordinate and provide leadership on project and buyer FF&E packages, including presenting costs, managing buyout and schedule, supervising installation, and performing punch lists.
Coordinate with buyer’s consultant(s) and owner’s representatives.
Communicate permissible revisions and associated costs with Buyer.
Provide regular updates to all buyers regarding their status in the design selection process, construction commencement and sequencing, construction milestones, and buyer responsibilities.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in field applicable to position and/or applicable work experience. Degree in architecture, communication or interior design preferred.
Procore Certification (may be obtained upon employment).
Minimum 5+ years working history applicable to position in architecture or interior design.
Strong preference to candidates with luxury residential construction experience; commercial experience and process management also preferred. Similar or equivalent experience applicable, such as luxury hospitality.
Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in a professional environment at different levels.
Ability to assemble and make presentations to a diverse audience.
Interior design knowledge.
Computer literacy; type minimum 50 wpm.
Competency with Word, Excel, Publisher, Project, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, Adobe Design (InDesign, Illustrator).
Ability to work with a diverse staff.
Ability to listen to and respond to specific requests.
Must be familiar with the phases of construction, especially residential.
Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
Ability to listen and respond to multiple players, providing feedback and recommendations as required to meet project needs most effectively.

Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
