Job Description
Are you a researcher passionate about developing the future of interactive and digital play?
Here’s your chance! This is a rare opportunity to use human insights, quantitative research, and data analysis to drive the development and launch of The LEGO’s Group’s new digital, interactive play experiences.
You’ll be working in a development team and supporting each step of the innovation journey with the necessary research and insights – from early opportunity identification to concept development and iteration to go-to-market strategy. This requires a holistic researcher with the full gamut of research tools under their belt but a passion and expertise in UX/UI, digital, gaming, interaction design research and development.
Responsibilities
Drive the learning and experimentation agenda for a new physical/digital play proposition – Work closely with design, UX, platform, and engineering to identify project priorities and research needs, define and plan a learning agenda, and drive all research activities, from development to launch.
Execute both qualitative and quantitative research – we do much of our research in-house so we’re looking for a well-rounded, mixed-method researcher. Can you moderate co-creation sessions with kids one day, then script and analyze a survey the next? You’ll design, manage, facilitate and analyze all agile research in-house!
Spearhead Desirability by ensuring kids are at the heart of strategy and design – Embed the voice of the consumer, their needs, attitudes, behaviors, perceptions, preferences, WTP, etc. into product and marketing strategy to ensure Desirability.
To be a great fit for this role, you would need strength and expertise in:
UX/UI design research
Digital/interactive technology and/or games
Product/service innovation and experience
Design Thinking Experimentation – Identifying risky assumptions, forming testable hypotheses, using metrics, running “in-market” experiments
Synthesizing various data sources, like trends, customer insight, app data, sales data, etc.
Crafting and communicating compelling, clear insight narratives that drive action and decision making
Strategic mindset and data-driven decisions – applying data and insight to identify and size innovation opportunities, formulate product strategy, identify Key Value Proposition
As a person, we expect you to:
Have a natural curiosity about people – their perceptions, attitudes, behaviors and emotions
Show strong social, collaboration and communication skills
Possess ability to work independently and identify critical and highest impact tasks
Be self-confident, with a problem solver and “do-er” attitude
Demonstrate highly developed ability to take the lead, think critically, challenge the brief and voice your opinion
Take an interest in toys, games and play experiences, as well as digital experience like gaming
