Why Should You Join the Advisor Experience Technology Delivery Team at LPL Financial?

At LPL Financial, we are on a transformational journey marked by a relentless commitment to innovation and excellence. Our mission is straightforward yet impactful: to empower financial advisors with the most advanced tools and insights, enabling them to offer personalized, efficient, and seamless experiences to their clients.  Central to this mission is our Advisor Experience Technology Delivery team, which is tasked with developing next-generation technology solutions that will fundamentally redefine the wealth management landscape. We’re looking for a senior technology executive to help lead one of the most critical transformations in our advisor platform: ensuring our systems are stable, scalable, and built to deliver a consistently excellent advisor experience.

Excited to learn more? If so, then this could be the role for you!

Job Overview:

We are seeking a senior technology executive to lead a critical transformation in how we deliver a stable, resilient, and intuitive advisor technology experience. This role serves as a right hand to the CIO, operating as both an executive stabilizer and strategic program leader — someone who can tackle immediate issues while shaping long-term ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advisor Experience Stabilization and Enhancements

    • Serve as the “czar” for system stability within advisor-facing technology stacks, leading a tiger team of expert engineers focused on rapid resolution of the most persistent and high-impact platform pain points

    • Act as a central synthesizer of advisor experience data: integrating client feedback, field insights, telemetry, and incident learnings into a unified view of platform pain points

    • Lead root-cause triage efforts and elevate critical friction points through advisor feedback, telemetry, and incident analytics

    • Drive measurable reduction in advisor pain and improve trust in the technology platform

    • Serve as the administrator of a $28M cross-functional investment portfolio dedicated to improving advisor experience and eliminating system friction

    • Partner closely with the CTO, who formally owns the enterprise resiliency program, and across the entire technology organization to ensure advisor needs are represented and urgent platform risks are addressed

    • Bring operational discipline, engineering fluency, and executive presence to represent this body of work with the firm’s senior leadership

  • Program Leadership: Fail-Forward Resiliency Sites

    • Lead a ~$30M multi-year program to build and operationalize three core resiliency sites designed to enable “fail-forward” capabilities into the cloud

    • Own overall program governance, budget management, delivery milestones, and executive reporting

    • Partner with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure readiness and architectural alignment

    • Drive clarity and accountability across cross-functional teams

  • Incubate New Ways of Working

    • Use the resiliency program as a proving ground for modern engineering practices, including agile at scale, DevSecOps, infrastructure-as-code, and real-time observability

    • Champion velocity, automation, and resilience as non-negotiables in technology delivery

    • Define and refine repeatable delivery patterns that can be adopted across the broader tech organization

  • Executive Engagement & Communication

    • Provide a steady hand in high-pressure settings, including executive incident bridges and board-level updates

    • Translate complex technical issues into business-impact language for executive stakeholders

What are we looking for?

We want strong collaborators who can deliver a world-class client experience. We are looking for people who thrive in a fast-paced environment, are client-focused, team oriented, and are able to execute in a way that encourages creativity and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology and engineering, including architecture, cloud platforms, and solution delivery, with at least 5 years in senior leadership or SVP level. Must have experience communicating with executive audiences.

  • Adept at seeing the big picture; a top-down thinker with the strategic agility to go both broad and deep depending on the problem at hand and the audience

  • Extensive experience in wealth management, including delivery of solutions for financial advisors, firms, and institutional clients.

  • Deep experience managing large, complex, multi-stakeholder technology programs with significant business impact and operational urgency.

  • Proven success in stabilizing technology environments and enhancing end-user trust

  • Track record of modernizing delivery practices within legacy or hybrid ecosystems

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Adept at operating across boundaries: between CIO/CTO, product/engineering, infrastructure/apps, support/field

  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, fostering collaboration and alignment toward common goals.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with an agile and entrepreneurial mindset.

  • A constant learner, keen to delve into the latest technological advancements, modern workplace practices, and the finer points of digital transformation.

  • A commitment to promoting a climate of innovation and excellence, advocating for continuous improvement and the integration of technology to guide strategic choices.
