In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

We are seeking an individual to fill the role of Theater Division Student Assistant. The primary responsibilities of this role include providing support with common office duties, copying, scanning, and printing activities, as well as assistance with design of social media content and email distributed to faculty and students.

This position reports to the Project Manager, and Assistant Chair of the Theater Division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the creation of social media content, photos, and art
  • Copying, Scanning, Printing and assembling documents
  • Read music and assemble scores for productions
  • Represent Theater Division during events, ie: Orientation, theater openings, receptions, faculty/student workshops, auditions.
  • Run Errands on campus
  • Offers support with artistic projects
  • Helps with research and data collection

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills - ability to independently complete multiple tasks while maintaining quality and attention to detail
  • Strong set of computer design skills required.
  • Knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets and Forms is strongly encouraged. MailChimp and Canva would be a bonus.
  • The ability to transition seamlessly from student to employee to best assist the College’s faculty, staff, students and visitors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (caption-writing, proofreading, etc)
  • Basic social media skills (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat) The ideal candidate will be someone who is good with working independently and is skilled at creating and maintaining high-quality online accounts. Skill with taking and uploading video and photos from concerts and recitals is a definite plus.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, time management skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to work independently or as part of a team. The role also requires excellent computer skills and experience in using design tools. In brief, the individual will provide support for the smooth running of activities within the school or organization.

Amount of Hours: (4-10 hours per week)
