Position Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Admission Services Manager to lead and oversee daily operations in admitting, outpatient registration, bed control, scheduling, and emergency management registration. This role is key to ensuring patient access is efficient, accurate, and revenue-optimized within a complex healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations across registration and scheduling areas
Oversee insurance eligibility verification and pre-appointment processes
Support financial clearance, counseling, and front-end collections
Partner with hospital departments, providers, and IT teams
Lead quality improvement efforts and drive performance metrics
Supervise hiring, training, and staff development
Support Revenue Cycle initiatives and participate in audits and reporting
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration or related field preferred
7+ years of progressive healthcare finance/patient access experience
5+ years in a direct management role
Extensive knowledge of healthcare billing, insurance regulations, and Epic systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient accounting systems
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Location: Howard County General Hospital – Columbia, MD
Department: Admitting & Registration
Schedule: Full-Time | Exempt
Salary Range: Minimum 31.96/hour - Maximum 55.95/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
