Position: Vendor Partner Manager

Location: Scottsboro, Alabama (Hybrid/Remote options available)


Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and relationship driven Vendor Partner Manager to lead vendor engagement and contract management initiatives on assigned business segments. This role is pivotal in optimizing procurement strategies, enhancing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with company standards to deliver significant value for the benefit of independent pharmacies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, wholesalers and service vendors to ensure optimal value for AAP members.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Lead the negotiation, execution, and oversight of contracts with assigned vendor categories, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with obligations therein.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess vendor performance against agreed upon service levels and key performance indicators, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify and evaluate new vendor opportunities to expand AAP’s portfolio, enhancing competitive advantage and member satisfaction.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal and external teams including finance, sales and operations, to align vendor strategies with organizational goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all vendor activities and contracts adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to inform decision making, track savings, and provide regular reports to stakeholders on vendor performance and contract outcomes.
  • Travel: Attend key industry trade events and meetings as required.
  • Other: Additional assignments as requested.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in vendor management, contract negotiation, or supply chain roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in contract management software and/or Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards



Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with GPO operations and independent pharmacy networks
  • Familiarity with pharmacy benefit managers and pharmacy services administrative organizations
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
