Job Summary:
The Club Events Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of Watersound Club social and dining events.
Job Duties Club Events:
Actively participates in the development of the Club’s annual social, dining, golf, tennis, pickleball, and sporting clays events calendar Actively researches new and unique ideas for member and guest activities and events Seeks input and feedback from Members and Member committees regarding current and future events Establishes and adheres to event budgeting
Creates, maintains, and distributes event BEOs and participates in weekly BEO meetings at various Club locations
Partners with marketing team to ensure graphics (flyers, event descriptions, menu design, etc.) and promotional items are accurate, visually appealing, and consistent with Club branding. Ensures that events are published on the Club’s website and works with the team to meet weekly e-newsletter deadlines
Approves and orders floral arrangements and décor
Responsible for securing entertainment (bands, performers, etc.)
Conducts a recap of all past club events to determine and implement necessary changes to improve future events and keeps an accurate history file of each event
Attends pre-event line-up with teams to ensure smooth, efficient service
Attends functions to ensure Member and guest satisfaction
Maintains professional appearance and demeanor Participates in scheduled staff and management meetings
Leads by example, inspiring team members to consistently deliver exceptional events
Motivate and cultivate a positive team culture
Performs other duties as assigned
Private Events:
Serves as the contact person for Member-sponsored private events, assisting Members with determining the appropriate Club location for their event. Introduces the Member to the point person at desired Club location once established.
Qualifications
Background/Experience:
· Private club event experience preferred
· Detail oriented with strong technical and organizational skills
· The desire to learn and improve daily
· Passionate drive to be creative and unique
· Excellent time management
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Jonas (preferred)
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
· Sense of urgency and self-motivation
Hours/Schedule: Office hours are generally Monday through Friday when there are no Member events scheduled, but will include weekends, evenings, and holidays when events are scheduled. The Club Event Manager is to be present during Member events, and the weekly work schedule is subject to change based on event schedule.
This position reports to the Managing Director and works closely with food and beverage, operations, and marketing.
