Job Title: Lift Operator, Tier I & II
Department: Lift Operations
Status: Seasonal (FT & PT) Day & Night Shifts
Reporting To: Manager of Lift Operations
Position Overview:
Powder Mountain is currently building our 25/26 winter season Lift Operation Team! This position will ensure the safety of our guests and instill a superior guest service experience. This position will operate the day-to-day lift functioning for our public and private terrain.
Tier 1 Key Responsibilities:
- Operate lift, set up life maze, load and unload guests, follow safety protocols.
- Alert Lift Maintenance and Lift Operations Manager when equipment fails.
- Partner with Ski Patrol for guest safety.
- Follow all lift training and procedures.
- Abide to Powder Mountain uniform, grooming, and conduct code.
- Exemplify a cheerful outlook and willingness to assist guests of all ages and abilities.
- Maintain the ramp, maze, loading and unloading areas.
- Shovel snow when needed.
- Maintain all lift signs (ANSI and informational).
- Ensure a clean workspace in all lift shacks.
Tier II Job Performance Expectations:
Has a thorough understanding of multiple types of lifts and can be used at any of the 5 types of lifts present at Powder Mountain.
Requirements and/or Qualifications:
- Experience working in a guest facing role.
- Desire to be positive and motivated during busy season and inclement weather.
- Desire to work at 9,000ft in exposed weather conditions.
- Ability to work early mornings for lift start up.
- Communicate professionally with all Powder Mountain departments.
- Be polite and friendly to team members, other departments, and guests.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work occasional overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as requested.
- Great attitude, positive mindset.
- Ability to ski/snowboard to all lifts located throughout Powder Mountain.
Physical Requirements:
- Full range of body movements
- Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40+lbs)
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting
- Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain
- Climb/descend stairs/ladders
- Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis
- Safely handle hazardous materials
Working Environment:
Work is performed primarily outside and is exposed to extreme temperatures, sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice), high altitudes (9,000ft+), noise, and moving machines/equipment. Work performed inside requires full attentiveness to individuals riding the lift and weather conditions.
