EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: college-level course work in business administration, personnel or closely related field and increasingly responsible experience in a central personnel office.

  • Requirements / Qualifications

    BASIC FUNCTION: Perform specialized and technical work related to classified and certificated personnel administration; serve as liaison between the Director, administrators and employees; coordinate and direct the work of personnel office employees; provide responsible and confidential clerical support; provide follow-up assistance on sensitive and confidential collective bargaining materials. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE OF: Personnel policies, procedures and practices related to assigned areas of certificated and classified personnel such as recruitment, testing, benefits, orientations and others Record-keeping techniques Computer software programs (database, spreadsheet, word processing, powerpoint, etc . . . ) Oral and written communication skills Telephone techniques and etiquette Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy ABILITY TO: Perform complex and responsible duties in a variety of technical, personnel-related functions Train and provide work direction to personnel staff Understand and interpret collective bargaining contracts, policies and procedures Work independently with little direction Compose correspondence and written materials independently Maintain the security of confidential materials Read, interpret, apply and explain a variety of personnel rules, policies, procedures and collective bargaining contracts Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Maintain records and prepare reports Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Meet schedules and timelines Work confidentially with discretion
