POSITION TYPE: Early College Coordinator
EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediate
This position works all student days (180 days) plus 10 non-student days as needed during summer vacation and/or intersessions.

QUALIFICATIONS: - Exhibit patience and willingness to work with high school-aged students
- Exhibit emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for meeting the requirements of the position
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Clear criminal and professional background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Knowledge of Early College Programs
- Knowledge of articulated credit, AP credit, and CLEP opportunities, etc.
- Current Teaching Certificate
DUTIES: - Attend state and local meetings/conferences
- Complete program and application updates
- Participate in Genesee County Career Technical Education Early Middle College Leadership Committee and Coordinator meetings
- Presents and promotes programs to parents/students
- Coordinate placement assessments for students
- Coordinates student application revision
- Reviews cohort student applications and the student selection process
- Coordinates all student scheduling for high school and college courses
- Mentors students and monitors their progress
- Coordinates and conducts all student seminars
- Coordinates post-secondary course options for each student, reviewing the Michigan Transfer Agreement, programs of study guidelines, and degree and certification requirements
- Creates an environment conducive to learning and the personal growth of students
- Implement any necessary support or bridge program to prepare our students, any summer orientations, and preparatory seminars as well
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District
- Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
Academic & Career Advising (assist counselors) - Help prepare our students for the rigors of college-level courses
- Educate students on the Michigan Transfer Agreement and university requirements for their program of study
- Educate students on the 3+1 and 2+2 programs between Mott Community College and partner universities
- Educate students on opportunities for articulated credit, AP credits, and CLEP opportunities available to them
Student Support Services - Liaison between the high school, college liaison/instructors, and students
- Monitor student progress towards high school graduation completion and early college graduation requirements
- Monitor “My Compass” in the Mott Community College system for academic flags
- Member of Mott Community College Planning Team
College Readiness Curriculum - Provide wraparound services by teaching weekly/monthly seminars with each cohort
- Provide the level of support necessary for our students in the program to have the maximum amount of success
Program Management - Create and coordinate a yearly calendar for early college students, coordinating Mott Community College, Davison Early College, and Davison High School
- Assist the Career & Technical Education Director in the creation of marketing materials for Career Technical Education/Early College Programs
- Communicate with parents and students through early college newsletters
- Monitor student book reimbursement and complete the necessary paperwork to send to the billing department for fall and winter terms for each student
- Present and promote Davison Early College to Davison High School sophomores yearly
Pupil Accounting/Counseling Support - Assist counselors in the creation of all courses for each early college student in Synergy (student information system)
- Provide Davison Early College data to Michigan Early Middle College Association
- Calculate data for dual enrollment and college credits earned for the counseling department
- Complete the Common App for students, upon request, as their advisor
- Support counselors with dual enrollment students
- Assist Career Readiness Coordinator with XELLO/EDP completion schedule and initiatives
- Assist in the coordination of Career Fair, Mock Interviews, and similar events
- Assist in the coordination of CTE Advisory Committee events
- Attend MTSS Academics Committee meetings as needed
- Assist in the scheduling/proctoring of CTE Student Credentialing Exams as needed
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a new process for communicating earned college credit to CTE/Early College students
- Develop, implement, and maintain a process for instructional rounds/teacher support for new CTE teachers as needed
SALARY: $25.22/hour
