We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our team in Fremont, CA, supporting the CTECH product category testing. This role focuses on electrical testing of products such as servers, power distribution units, and gaming machines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with lab equipment, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate electrical test equipment and test setups for client products.
- Build or adapt test setups based on datasheets and engineering instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Execute defined test plans and record accurate results.
- Evaluate test performance and provide clear documentation of findings.
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment and ensure a clean, organized lab environment.
- Communicate with clients during setup and testing to ensure proper evaluation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest enhancements to equipment or processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and report data and observations.
- May assist or direct junior staff in test setups and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in electrical testing or lab environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with automation tools and willingness to integrate automation into testing processes.
- Innovative mindset and desire to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
What you will experience working at UL:
- Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $49,600 and $66,100 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
