About the Department
Inglewood Unified School District is seeking a qualified candidates for the positions of Instructional Aide! These incumbents will be responsible for assisting teachers in providing and reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups of students in an assigned learning environment. The position also requires that applicants possess some experience working with children in an organized setting. Applicants must meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act*. AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION:

- Salary: Range 1, ($18.80 - $19.74) Hourly
MUST have completed at least 48 semester units or the equivalent of college credit, or obtained an AA (or higher) degree.
Position Duties
Under direction of an assigned supervisor, assist teachers in providing and reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups of students in an assigned learning environment; prepare instructional materials and perform clerical duties in support of classroom activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Must meet the minimum qualifications of the NCLB Act*
- Some Experience working with children in an organized setting
- Must pass the District's Instructional Aide I virtual examination demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness.

SELECTION PROCEDURES:
The examination process for this recruitment may be comprised of one or any combination of the following: screening of the applicant's training, background, and experience; scored evaluation of responses on a supplemental application; written examination(s); qualifications appraisal oral examination; performance examination; or technical oral examination, scored on a job-related basis. Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations. The eligibility list for this classification will remain in effect for a period of six (6) months.

EXAMINATION PROCESS:
For those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications, the examination process will consist of any one or more of the following: Training and Experience Evaluation, Virtual Test, Performance Test, and/or Structured interview. Additional information pertaining to the examination process will be emailed to those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications.
EXAMINATION PROTESTS:
Protests of any part of the examination process must be in writing and received in the office of the Director of Human Resources no later than five (5) working days from the date you were notified of the examination results. All notifications are sent electronically via email. Any protest must include rationale to support the protest and must be based on illegal discrimination, abuse of discretions, or procedure/process error. We are not responsible for any incoming mail that is lost or misdirected after it has been entrusted to the US Postal Service.

ADVANCED STEP PLACEMENT:
Generally, new employees start at the first step on the appointed salary schedule. When filling a permanent vacancy, a new employee may request a higher salary placement based on having training and experience that greatly exceeds the minimum qualifications. An employee may submit a formal request for advanced step consideration on or after the first day of employment. Education transcripts, training certificates, and additional references may be requested for verification purposes.
