Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric utility that provides power to rural Wright County and western Hennepin County. The cooperative has been a corporate citizen to the area since 1937 and currently serves more than 50,000 electric accounts.
The Facilities Assistant supports day-to-day operations in our corporate office, warehouse, and outdoor campus settings by performing general maintenance and office/administrative tasks, stocking supplies, supporting facilities projects and ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of shared spaces. This role helps create a comfortable, efficient, and well-maintained workplace for staff and visitors. This part-time role is a culmination of both office and facilities support and is perfect for someone comfortable with various physical demands (frequent walking, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder height, kneeling, sitting, lifting and carrying objects up to 25 lbs., occasional pushing/pulling, twisting at the waist, ladder use, and manual dexterity) looking for flexible hours and the ability to balance other commitments.
Pay: $18 -$20 per hour
Hours: 15 hours per week Monday - Friday during normal business operations, morning hours preferred
Benefits: This position is eligible for holiday pay and paid time off. It is not eligible for health or retirement plan benefits.
Location: This is a part-time in-office position at our company headquarters. We are based in Rockford MN, 15 miles west of Plymouth on Hwy 55.
Key Responsibilities
70% Office Administrative Tasks
Tasks related to space management, event support, document tracking, administrative coordination, and hospitality services.
Conference Room Management
Monitor conference room calendar
Schedule and ensure execution of layout change overs
Assist with board meeting and special event set up and needs
Maintain Contracts and Insurance Certificates
Track expiration dates
Order replacement and process renewals
Update agreement standards as needed
Work Order Management
Assist in prioritizing work order ticket urgency
Assigning contractors to work orders
Drafting Subcontractor agreements
Managing communications on work order statuses, progress updates and completion tracking
Assist with drafting proposal requests (REPs)
Cleaning and Maintenance Scheduling
Maintain weekly and monthly inspection logs
Schedule site walkthroughs and preventative maintenance
Schedule various quarterly, biannual, and annual cleaning services
Shared Space Management (bathrooms, kitchen, meeting rooms)
Including, but not limited to:
Making morning coffee
Light cleaning
Monitoring proper functionality of appliances and vending equipment
Placing service calls as needed
30% Maintenance/Supply Management
Job duties involving physical upkeep, supply monitoring, safety, and equipment maintenance
Office and Grounds Upkeep
Light office maintenance tasks
Replacing light bulbs and batteries around the facility
Checking emergency exit lights to ensure proper working order
Responding to minor office furniture requests or repairs such as assembling office chairs, hanging bulletin boards etc.
Grounds keeping responsibilities
Raising and lowering flags as needed
Light snow removal
Salting sidewalks in inclement weather
Minor landscape maintenance such as pulling weeds or removing trash
Office Vending Equipment Upkeep
Ensure functionality of soda, ice, and water machines
Replace Filters
Maintain cleanliness of equipment, by periodically wiping down with soap and water
Inventory/Supply Management
Manage janitorial and cleaning supply inventory
Monitor, order, and stock conference rooms and meeting spaces with beverages, utensils and other supplies
Stock coolers and specialty items for board meetings and special events
Manage filing cabinet key inventory
Monitor, order and stock paper products (plates, cups, etc.) in lunchroom and conference room spaces
Additionally assist various departments, particularly safety, with routine preventative maintenance and other projects as needed.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- 18+ years of age
- High School education or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite

- Good physical stamina and ability to work in an office and warehouse setting performing various tasks such as snow removal, lifting supplies, moving tables/office furniture, etc.
