Knowledge Center YBS Education Specialist bei Horizon Farm Credit

Farm Credit of the Virginias is seeking a Knowledge Center Young, Beginning, and/or Small Specialist to join our team. This role serves as a key resource for young, beginning, small, minority, and veteran producers by developing educational programs, providing business support, and helping participants succeed in Farm Credit of the Virginias’ lending and training initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a dedication to empowering producers with the tools they need to thrive.

Responsibilities/Duties
•     Develop and implement educational resources, programs, and curriculum tailored to young, beginning, and small producers across the FCV footprint.
•    Support participants and prospective customers in navigating association programs, business planning, and credit-related processes.
•    Collaborate with Knowledge Center team members to design and deliver impactful programming for diverse audiences, including producers, educators, and youth.
•    Contribute to the success of the FarmLaunch Program by providing educational support, program evaluation, and promotional insights.
•    Stay current on agricultural trends, lending practices, and industry issues to strengthen offerings and support customer success.

Required Qualifications 
•    Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agriculture and applied economics, business, or an agricultural education-related field, or equivalent experience
•    3 plus years of related work experience
•    Driver’s License
•    Strong knowledge of lending, understanding of commercial agriculture lending ideal
•    Ability to provide education, resources, or mentorship to others as needed
•    Exceptional customer relationship abilities
•    Effective communication skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office products with demonstrated ability to learn new technology
•    Commitment to developing an understanding or knowledge of agriculture sectors outside of the traditional four commodities in our footprint
•    Solid knowledge of business plan development
•    Expertise in the region’s economic and agricultural environment
•    Ability to travel for customer visits and meetings

Salary Range: $66,800-$108,000 (depending on location) plus incentive opportunities
