The Accounting Assistant works directly with the Accounting and Property Management staff while working in the Las Vegas Regional Office. The primary tasks are processing accounts payable lease input and cash receipts.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS:

  • Log rent checks.
  • Process invoices for assigned property group (includes assigning vendor code, expense account, job number, and data entry).
  • Route invoices for approval. 
  • Receive and reconcile vendor statements for assigned vendor group.  Follow up on outstanding invoices as required.
  • Receive and post tenant rent payments. Record payments received via ACH, lockbox and live checks.
  • Provide support/assistance to Accounting Staff and Operational Staff as appropriate.
  • Investigate and report unusual transactions, requests, or invoices.
  • Work with Regional and Corporate Accounting offices to meet weekly check run deadlines.
  • Input executed leases and maintain tenant information.
  • Enter tenant billing adjustments.
  • Other tasks as they are assigned.

 

Experience, training, skills required:

  • 2-3 years accounts payable experience with an automated accounting system preferred
  • Applicable knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and other MS Office applications
  • Accurate and proficient with computer keyboard and 10-key
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and pride in work
  • Ability to stay organized and efficient under pressure

 

Education:

Associate degree in Accounting preferred but not required.

 

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED:

None.
