The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all production equipment and facility systems. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and process control systems, as well as the ability to mentor and develop team members.
Duties and Requirements of the Job:
- Team Leadership & Oversight
- Supervise and support maintenance technicians in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of work orders and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Foster a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
- Technical Guidance
- Provide expert-level support in diagnosing issues with electrical systems (12V–480V), PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
- Review and approve repair plans, ensuring alignment with equipment manuals and technical drawings.
- Oversee welding, fabrication, and metal repair activities.
- Inventory & Resource Management
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies; ensure timely ordering and restocking.
- Track usage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts consumption.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments to support production goals and implement process enhancements.
- Training & Development
- Train and mentor maintenance staff on technical skills, safety procedures, and company standards.
- Ensure team members maintain professional competence and stay current with industry best practices.
Requirements
Training, Knowledge and Experience
· Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
· Proven expertise in electrical systems (12V–480V), PLC troubleshooting, and process control systems.
· Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead and motivate a team.
· Vocational diploma or technical degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
· Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
· Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Working Conditions
- Occasionally lifts and / or carries up to 75 pounds.
- Maneuvers in, around, under and about factory and / or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
- Some of the work time is spent sitting, standing, walking, lifting and bending. In man lifts and on silos.
- Works within a manufacturing ,office and laboratory setting and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.
- May be required to travel to other sites or customer sites as needed.
- Eye protection required.
- Hearing protection required.
- Steel toed shoes required on manufacturing and warehouse floor.
Education:
- Some college or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Programmable Logic Controllers: 5 years (Required)
- Maintenance: 5 years (Required)
