Description

We’re looking for a strategic and experienced Sales Training Manager (STM) to lead the design, delivery, and continuous innovation of our learning and development programs for a high-performing commercial sales organization.


This is more than just a training role — we need a learning and development leader who can drive real behavioral change, close capability gaps, and equip our salesforce with the clinical knowledge, strategic selling skills, and leadership development they need to win in a competitive healthcare landscape.


You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Product Development, and Operations to ensure that all training programs align with business goals, field needs, and performance KPIs. You'll take ownership of programs across the entire employee lifecycle — from new hire onboarding to advanced sales methodology, coaching, and continuous learning.


This role will include direct people management and may include the oversight of field trainers, with a strong focus on building a culture of learning, coaching, and development across the commercial team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Learning & Development Strategy

  • Design and execute a scalable, high-impact learning and development strategy that aligns with business and talent goals
  • Integrate modern adult learning principles, sales enablement tools, and experiential learning into curriculum design
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning and growth across the commercial organization

Sales & Clinical Training Program Ownership

  • Create end-to-end training programs for clinical expertise, sales methodology, and strategic selling
  • Build curricula for both new hires and experienced sales professionals; evolve programs based on field feedback and performance trends
  • Own continuing education, field sales enablement, and learning milestones

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Operations to co-create relevant, engaging learning programs
  • Align content and delivery with company goals, sales processes, and field readiness needs

Talent Development & Coaching

  • Launch and manage mentorship, field trainer, and “train-the-trainer” programs
  • Strengthen leadership pipelines by designing and supporting coaching programs for emerging and current sales leaders

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Use surveys, assessments, knowledge checks, and performance data to measure impact and refine programs
  • Provide detailed reports and strategic recommendations to Sales Leadership 

Learning Technology & Resource Management

  • Maintain a library of engaging, up-to-date, and accessible training content
  • Leverage LMS platforms, video learning, microlearning, and sales enablement tools to improve learning outcomes
  • Oversee training budget and allocate resources efficiently

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in Sales Training or Learning & Development,
  • Strong background in instructional design, adult learning, or organizational development
  • Proven ability to create and lead blended learning programs (virtual, in-person, on-demand)
  • Experience in healthcare, medical device, or life sciences preferred
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills
  • Track record of partnering cross-functionally and influencing at all levels
  • Experience with LMS systems, CRM tools, and sales enablement platforms

 WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Ability and willingness to “get the job done”, and work flexible and extended hours, depending upon the project and/or business needs.
  • Office environment (does own documentation and interacts directly with others in virtually all situations)
  • Travel: Will be minimal with advanced notice.
