Assists in the Planning and coordination of all childcare activities for the residential community. Provides guidance, support, and collaborative supervision to Campus Life Supervisors and the Childcare Team.
Essential Duties:
- Assists in the provision of supervision for and facilitates training needs of Campus Life supervisory staff.
- Monitors consistency in home life programming, to include daily schedules, implementation and use of Therapeutic Discipline and approved intervention techniques, and functionality of childcare teams.
- Provides insight, coordinates training and mentoring to the Campus Life staff and supervisors in LSCI, SAMA, NMT, TBRI, and other approved programmatic areas.
- Provides support to Campus Life Supervisors in the provision of childcare services and in the provision of support and supervision to house parents.
- Participates as an active member of the Childcare Team meetings and assists in the facilitation of After Action Reviews and Intensive Team Meetings.
- Assists in the coordination of the Campus Life program with other campus programs.
- Assists in the coordination of school and related activities with BRISD.
- Provides crisis intervention for residents, to include the use of approved verbal and physical intervention techniques.
- Provides on call responsibilities with other administrative staff.
- Maintains liaison with external vendors, agencies and other resources that relate to Boys Ranch operations.
- Monitors compliance with all internal and external regulations regarding Boys Ranch operations.
- Assists in the implementation and operation of the childcare program in accordance with the Cal Farley’s Model of Leadership and Service.
- Assists in collaborating with Human Resources Division to ensure proper recruiting, hiring and retention of employees.
- Facilitates other projects/staff as assigned.
- Within departmental parameters, exhibits customer service, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Effectively prioritizes and coordinates job tasks for maximum productivity.
- Exhibits appropriate interaction with residents.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Child Psychology, Counseling, Human Services Administration, Education or related field is preferred.
- A license from the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners, Texas State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Texas State Board of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Texas State Board of Psychologists or similar is preferred.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Texas Childcare Administrators License within one year after assuming the position.
- A minimum of three years experience in staff supervision, to include hiring, employee performance management and related activities. Experience supervising multiple disciplines is strongly preferred.
- Experience in an administrative position in a youth program setting is strongly preferred.
- Bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing/pulling, and prolonged sitting/standing.
- A minimum of three years employment experience in a youth programs setting.
- Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.).
- Proficiency in general office equipment operation.
- Exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
- Availability for travel as needed.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
