Production Planner

 

Summary 

Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC), is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join our team in Gilbert, AZ. The Production Planner will be responsible for performing planning and scheduling tasks to support assigned programs, ensuring that both cost and schedule performance objectives are consistently met. This role requires close coordination across departments to align production activities with customer requirements and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will leverage ATSC’s resources and tools, including our ERP system to manage production workflows, maintain schedule integrity, and ensure all customer commitments and compliance requirements are met. This position plays a critical role in supporting efficient operations and delivering high-quality products on time.

Essential Responsibilities 

  • Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules.
  • Monitors work-in-progress and adjusts schedules as necessary to respond to production delays, material shortages, or shifting priorities.
  • Identifies the impact of schedule variance on critical path and communicates to management.
  • Collaborates with Purchasing, Production, Receiving, Quality, and Engineering to review execution of production schedules, build plans, backorder status, and other potential schedule interruptions or rescheduling.
  • Participates and contributes to process/quality improvement teams and/or initiatives. Identifies and recommends improvements to scheduling processes, practices or materials which lead to positive results in product quality.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement planning strategies to optimize stock
  • Identifies resource conflicts and communicates to management and production staff.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
    In lieu of a degree, 2–3 years of relevant experience in planning or scheduling within a manufacturing or construction environment is acceptable.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and scheduling principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (knowledge of ERP/MRP development is a plus) Deltek-Costpoint, SAP, Oracle.
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Detail oriented with strong follow through and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task and to accept and adapt to change quickly.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment.
  • Capability to work independently with limited supervision.

Physical Demands & Work Environment 

  •  Work is typically performed in an office setting.
  •  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, bend, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
  •  Must have the ability to lift 15-25 pounds.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
