GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Research Office Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing a broad range of office-related service through both special projects and recurring tasks which include but is not limited to, proofing, dictating, researching, grading, filing, writing, as well as any other hands-on assistance which is required by the Director of Research. In addition, this position collaborates with the Dean of the CSL to execute various responsibilities associated with the promotion of CSL degrees and events, as well as other communication responsibilities. with other CSL faculty and staff as needed for errands and other necessary.

2. A cooperative attitude toward DBU’s goals, an understanding of the university, and caring for DBU students
3. The ability to organize, manage, solve problems, focus, and work well with others
4. Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, filing procedures, and a willingness to learn other skills necessary to the fulfillment of job duties
5. A focus on detail while attending to multiple tasks and an ability to prioritize tasks
6. A willingness to work toward reaching goals, objectives, and deadlines
7. A bachelor's degree and prior secretarial experience are desired
8. A self-starter continuing to develop professionally
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Must have a cooperative attitude toward DBU’s goals and environment.
2. Must work toward reaching deadlines.
3. Must maintain the ability to set and reach goals, organize, manage, problem-solve, focus, and work well with others.
4. Must maintain adequate knowledge, talent, and skill necessary to perform duties.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Assist the Director of Research with various scheduling, correspondence, filing, and other office-related items
2. Manage phone system and correspondence for the Research Office; process phone calls, faxes, emails, and mailings
3. Oversee the Research Methodology Process for the CSL
4. Oversee the Dissertation Tracking System for the CSL
5. Oversee the dissertation Form and Style process, as well as the printing and binding process
6. Review all incoming documents for correct format
7. Ensure the Protection of Human Participants files remain organized and updated
8. Keep up-to-date log of location of research laptops
9. Edit the CSL Blackboard page when necessary
10. Assist with Dissertation training as directed by the Director of Research
11. Oversee office organization and filing system; manage hardcopy and electronic records
12. Attend staff meetings, take notes, follow up as needed, and distribute information to staff
13. Supervise, train, and coordinate student workers within the Research
14. Assist with planning, preparation, and recruitment for conferences, meetings, training, presentations, travel, and other events as directed by the Dean
15. Assist with maintaining recruiting materials and office supplies as directed by the Dean
16. Assist with the creation and distribution of alumni, prospective, and general emails from the CSL Office as directed by the Dean
17. Serve as an administrative assistant backup for the CSL Office as needed
18. Various responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Research and the Dean
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time position with regular office hours between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
