Description
Ascentec Engineering is hiring a Quality Inspection Supervisor! The selected candidate will be responsible for the leadership, management, and technical oversight of the Quality Control (QC) laboratory. This requires expertise in metrology, quality systems, and data-driven decision-making to ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements. This Supervisor will lead a team of QC technicians and inspectors, manage key performance metrics, and serve as the primary communication link between QC, operations, and management.
This is an on-site position at our Tualatin facility (not remote or hybrid) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Requirements
- Lead, train, and mentor quality control technicians and inspectors to ensure competency in inspection techniques, documentation, and equipment usage.
- Oversee personnel scheduling and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) workload distribution to ensure alignment with production targets and quality requirements.
- Monitor and manage QC productivity using Earned Hours vs. Payroll Hours.
- Track and improve Machine Buyoff (MBO) turn times.
- Maintain and enhance internal source scorecards while reducing rejection rates.
- Monitor First Pass Yield for Dimensional Inspection Reports (DIR), First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports, and Nonconformance (NC) data inputs.
- Develop and implement quality assurance checkpoints and in-process inspection strategies.
- Ensure inspection processes meet AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
- Analyze inspection data to identify trends, defects, and areas for process improvement.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions based on statistical analysis and root cause investigation.
- Serve as the focal point between QC, Production, and Management for quality-related issues.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Lead QC and inspection process development initiatives, including Material Review Board (MRB) participation.
- Ensure QC lab capability through the procurement and maintenance of inspection tools, software, and CMM programming resources.

- Must understand and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal documentation standards (e.g., ISO, ITAR)

Minimum Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
- CQT (Certified Quality Technician) through American Society of Quality (ASQ)
- CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) through ASQ
Experience:
3 years of experience required which should include at least:
- 1 year of MRB experience
- 1 year of experience in quality improvement and customer failure analysis
- 2 years of interpreting mechanical prints and GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- 2 years of experience with a wide variety of metrology equipment including CMM, optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, heigh gauges, bore gauges, etc.
- 3 years of experience being the SME for CMM and Inspections
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Strong ability to present technical findings to internal customers
- Strong software skills (Excel, PowerPoint, QC-Calc, Pi-Web, etc.)
- Strong decision-making skills with high attention to detail
- Self-Starter / Self-Motivated, capable of working independently
- Reliable and dependable, adaptable to a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work within and manage a team environment
Working Environment:
- Lab environment
- Requires use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
- Working hours may extend based on business need.
- Must walk through machine shop environment (concrete floors) to access the lab.

Compensation / Benefits:
• $53,000 to $89,000 per year DOE
