Description

 This position is responsible for assisting the buyers with product mix and creating, placing, and tracking purchase orders. Involved in planning, monitoring, and maintaining suitable inventory levels. Other duties include compiling reports and statistics, building vendor relationships, and working with and communicating effectively with all departments. 

      

 Essential Functions:  


  • Coordinates all product availability requests and     leads back to sales team on the status of request.  
  •  Setting up new item numbers  
  •  Oversees the setting up of the Premier contracts  
  •  Updates PO’s-ASNs/VAN.  
  •  Tracks list of items with active or potential issues based on Vendor feedback  
  •  Evaluating position with secondary and tertiary options for discussion when necessary 
  •  Weekly communication to sales about market situations, general status, for awareness by sales team.
  •  Price updates as needed.
  •  Maintains catalog-update active/inactive numbers and descriptions.

Requirements

   

SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

Education: High School education or GED equivalent: Preferred or a combination of education and experience.

 

Experience:  A minimum of three years of experience in an accounting role or a role where there was a requirement     of accurately working with numbers.

 

Computer Skills:  Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel and Word
