Building Products Merchandisers are responsible for maintaining the stock level, merchandising, cleanliness and overall appearance of OrePac’s specified product lines in The Home Depot stores. This position requires commuting to stores within a defined territory on a daily basis, computer knowledge, and maintaining relationships with key associates and leaders within The Home Depot stores and OrePac’s staff. Timeliness of task completion, project initiatives, and store level execution are key to success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a full-time position with flexible hours. Hours may need to be extended or adjusted at any time, with or without notice, to meet the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create an environment of open communication and connection between The Home Depot and the local OrePac branch.

• Perform duties in a professional manner and behave in a way that represents the values of both The Home Depot and OrePac.

• Execute Corporate and localized team goals and initiatives.

• Quickly identify the root causes of issues in the field and respond with prompt solutions.

• Take ownership of assigned stores and build relationships with store management and store associates within the assigned territory.

STORE APPEARANCE

• Replace merchandise and verify correct product positioning to support an easy shopping experience for customers. Ensure compliance and visual appearance of programs.

• Maintain aisle integrity by adhering to provided specifications. Responsible for cleaning and organizing aisles, cull carts, signage, and productions.

• Work closely with third-party service providers (MET, Signature Retail Services, and CrossMark).

INVENTORY

• Order on-hand levels against weeks-of-supply targets.

• Confirm the quality of products and packaging.

SALES

• Identify and report new product opportunities.

• Provide fast and friendly customer service to The Home Depot customers as needed.

SAFETY

• Comply with the safety standards of both The Home Depot and OrePac.

• Perform store safety audits. Document and communicate safety concerns and injuries that take place during store service immediately or as soon as practicable.

PROJECTS & MOBILE PHONE TASKS

• Perform project-related tasks as instructed and track progress in the mobile application. Responsible for completing all special projects by specified deadlines.

• Identify program improvement projects to work on at stores.

• Learn the complete functionality of mobile phone store service applications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Exceptional verbal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

• Technological aptitude, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortability with mobile applications.

• Flexibility and willingness to learn new tasks and responsibilities.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and re-prioritize as needed. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be highly self-motivated and trustworthy.

• Must be reliable and dependable, with excellent attendance and punctuality.

• Strong reading and interpretation skills.

• Solid math skills, including the ability to perform basic algebra.

• Close attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Ability to problem-solve minor to intermediate issues quickly and effectively. Reach out to leadership team for support in solving complex issues in a timely manner.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 6 months of warehousing, merchandising, service technician, or related experience; or any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Auto insurance coverage at the following minimum levels:

o Bodily injury: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per incident

o Property damage: $50,000

o Collision: $500 deductible

o Comprehensive: $500 deductible

The items listed below will be provided by OrePac. The employee will be required to comply with all OrePac policies relating to these resources.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/loud.

• The employee frequently works in high, precarious places.

• The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.

• The employee primarily works in the field servicing The Home Depot stores in an assigned geographical area. Branch and territory dependent limited overnight stays may be required.

SAFETY:

OrePac supports a safe and drug-free workplace. Employees are required to perform duties in accordance with acceptable and safe work procedures. This includes but is not limited to:

• Reporting all incidents and accidents to one’s immediate supervisor within 24 hours;

• Maintaining the work area in a safe and healthful condition;

• Reporting, and whenever possible correcting, unsafe working conditions to branch leadership;

• Operating vehicles while in the course of employment in a safe and lawful manner; and

• Providing assistance to reduce or eliminate workplace hazards.

OrePac may administer a pre-employment background check and/or drug-screen, as well as random and/or reasonable suspicion drug-screens during employment.

OrePac’s safety policy requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated safety-sensitive areas while on OrePac property. OrePac will provide required PPE to employees. OrePac employees who handle or deliver OrePac products while not on OrePac property are required to adhere to OrePac’s safety policy and use the required PPE necessary for their specific role.

DRESS CODE:

The dress code described below is representative of what an employee must wear while performing the duties of this position. Individual branches may issue more specific guidelines than what is outlined below.

• All employees are expected to wear clothing appropriate for the nature of OrePac business and the type of work being performed. Clothing should be neat, clean, and tasteful.

• The employee is required to wear a company shirt while performing the duties of this position. OrePac will provide company shirts to the employee upon hire.

• The employee is required to wear pants or shorts with no holes or patches while performing the duties of this position.

• The employee is required to wear protective shoes or shoe coverings while performing the duties of this position. All protective shoes and shoe coverings must comply with OrePac’s Protective Shoe Policy. OrePac will provide protective shoes and shoe coverings to employees.
