As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Director of Finance who shares our passion for the restaurant industry and is eager to grow with us.
The Director of Finance will work with leadership to manage the Company's overall financial health, overseeing operations, planning strategic initiatives, and advising senior leadership to ensure fiscal stability and growth. Key responsibilities include developing budgets and long-term financial plans, managing cash flow and investments, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations, while leading growth and development of the accounting team.
Role and Responsibilities
· Director of Finance participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for Burgermaster, which are aligned with the overall mission, vision and values.
· Develops and implements accounting and financial strategies that support achievement of Burgermaster’s goals.
· Perform regular financial analysis and provide timely reports.
· Develop budgets that meet the requirements of Company departments in conjunction with the Executive Team.
· Oversee intracompany transfers
· Supervise all audit and internal control processes.
· Prepare detailed reports on the Company’s financial performance.
· Guarantee compliance with financial laws and guidelines
· Recognize patterns in Company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas.
· Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the Company
· Maximizes cash flow by proactively managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
· Supports the operation of Burgermaster by overseeing the purchasing function.
· Ensures that accounting practices adhere to legal requirements and standards including: Preparing and filing of tax and license information returns, audits compliance of cash handling and credit, reviews and maintains accurate files on all contractual obligations
· Works with management team on ways to maximize profits and cash flow
· Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
· Excellent time management skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management
· In-depth knowledge of accounting software, corporate principals, and financial analysis
· Previous experience in the restaurant industry preferred.
Work Environment
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Time divided between desk work and meetings.
· Some travel required between restaurants
