Objective

To lead the Student Ministry Team at MBC Loudoun in engaging Middle and High School students with the gospel, discipling them to follow Jesus, and equipping them for a life of mission. Partnering with parents as the primary disciple-makers in the home. 

 

In addition, this role provides strategic leadership for the Next Generation team (birth through graduation), ensuring that staff and volunteer leaders are equipped and aligned so that all programming, events, trainings, and resources effectively equip families to follow Jesus together.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Student Ministry Leadership

  • Develop and implement a cohesive Student Ministry strategy that aligns with the vision, mission, and goals of McLean Bible Church.
  • Teach God’s Word faithfully in student gatherings and other ministry settings, helping students, parents, and the broader church family grow in disciple-making.
  • Recruit, train, and encourage a team (both Staff and Serve Team) to engage students and equip them to be disciples of Jesus who make disciples.
  • Disciple and equip student leaders, encouraging them to live on mission in their schools and daily lives.
  • Ensure excellence and alignment with MBC’s vision for all Student Ministry events (weekly gatherings, camps, Serve Team Trainings, Parent Seminars, retreats, etc.)
  • Serve as key point leader for Student Ministry, while collaborating with other MBC Location Student Ministry staff for church-wide events (Winter Camp, Summer Camp, etc.).
  • Encourage and assist parents to disciple their Middle and High School students; resourcing them with tools and coaching for the home.
  • Establish and uphold safety and security practices that protect minors and build trust with families.
  • Develop relationships with local student ministry and para-church leaders to partner in reaching Loudoun County for Christ.

Additional Responsibilities as Next Gen Team Lead

  • Provide strategic coordination for all Next Generation Ministries (birth through graduation), shaping a unified discipleship pathway that equips the next generation to know, love and follow Jesus.
  • Champion alignment and quality across every ministry environment, fostering a culture where families are consistently reached, equipped, and sent as disciple-makers.
  • Contribute to the broader leadership of MBC / MBC Loudoun, collaborating with pastors and staff to shepherd the church family and advance the mission of the church.

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. 

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to read, speak, and hear. Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. While performing the duties of this job, the position is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, bend, kneel, and lift. The position is required to be able to lift and carry items that can weigh 25 pounds or more for short distances.
