URM Stores, Inc. is currently looking for a talented Preventative Fleet Maintenance Technician who is primarily responsible for the routine maintenance and servicing of company class 8 vehicles. Our Preventative Fleet Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the following: steam cleaning equipment; changing oil and filters; changing and repairing tires; lubricating chassis; and inspecting and diagnosing routine class 8 vehicles service and replacement needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Doing preventative maintenance repairs, completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on class 8 trucks and trailers.
- Prepare work orders and maintains written records of work performed and equipment repair status.
- Perform maintenance on tires, including rotations, balancing, repairs, and cleaning.
- Inspect damaged or flat tires to determine if they meet all company, DOT and FMCSR guidelines.
- Perform thorough inspections and preventative maintenance on URM trucks and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and/or company procedures.
- Identify potential problems and maintenance requirements and makes minor adjustments/repairs to return systems/components to specifications.
- Operate vehicles and equipment requiring a CDL Class A Driver’s License to road test equipment.
- Lubricate automotive equipment and replacement parts.
- Inspect vehicle frames, crossmembers, and other parts for cracks and damage.
- Check and adjusts brakes and clutches and changes filters.
- Replace positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valves and wheel seals.
- Change and inspect fuel, oil, transmission fluid, and water levels.
- Move heavy (up to 100 pounds with aid to assist) parts and equipment.
- Work in small, cramped areas and at heights greater than ten feet in repairing certain vehicles.
- Comprehend and make inferences from written and graphically printed material such as service manuals, schematics, lube charts, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to two years’ experience in servicing and/or repairing diesel equipment.
- Demonstrated experience monitoring and meeting heavy diesel and preventive maintenance schedules and operations of any automotive, diesel, or repair shop equipment.
- Must provide own hand tools and rollaway box.
- Possess a valid CDL Class A Driver’s License, or able to obtain one shortly after hire.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
- Preventative Maintenance Inspection T-8 preferred.

- Our full-scale wage is $33.21 per hour, our starting wage is determined by verifiable experience and certifications as shown in the examples below:
- 0-5 months experience - $27.23 per hour
- 6 months experience - $28.23 per hour
- 12 months experience - $29.56 per hour
- 18 months experience - $31.88 per hour
- 24 months or more experience - $33.21 per hour (full scale)
