Description

As a Shipping Manager, you will oversee, direct, and coordinate all aspects of the Shipping, Receiving, and quality control station. You will be in charge of managing inventory needs, supervising employees across all shift schedules, and providing training for departmental employees.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee the daily workflow of all shipping and receiving operations across all shifts
  • Manage all inventory needs of the shipping department and coordinate with purchasing to ensure inventory levels are maintained
  • Establish, communicate, and implement shipping related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Assist in quality control of all parts, troubleshooting shipping and packaging issues to ensure resolution and that they meet quality standards.
  • Prioritize jobs based on due dates and ship with appropriate shipping methods
  • Lead, train, and develop departmental employees, identifying training needs and ensuring the development and delivery of appropriate training programs  
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations with all assigned staff
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping department

Requirements

  • 5+ years of management experience 
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred but not required
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or related software.
