The Quality Manager develops and maintains Food Safety & Food Quality systems compliant with SQF, FDA and Puratos Group requirements while working with cross-functional operations teams to continuously improve performance while providing the highest quality of food safe products.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain quality standards and programs and train employees who will be responsible to execute these programs
  • Assure that quality standards are applied through internal audits and CAPA programs
  • Monitor and optimize continuous quality systems using trends of non-conformities & CAPAs
  • Monitor supplier's performance and coordinate supplier audit programs
  • Manage pest control programs
  • Manage audits from third parties, customers and FDA inspections
  • Maintain records in compliance with FDA and SQF requirements
  • Manage the customer complaint program and ensure timely investigation, response and corrective preventative actions are taken
  • Establish goals, measure KPIs, assess deviations and initiate actions within the QA scope
  • Contribute on developing a culture of do it right the first time with a focus on customer centric and continuous improvement
  • Facilitate alignment with production managers
  • Develop knowledge of products, ingredients, and processing equipment
  • Manage the quality team, develop talent and core competencies for the team
  • Develop and promote a strong food safety culture across the organization

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Control Technology, Microbiology, Food Science)
  • At least 5 years of quality experience in the Food Industry
  • Experience with SQF, BRC, GMP is mandatory
  • Inspection FDA or USDA experience
  • HACCP, FSMA, and PCQI certified
  • Proficient in MS Office applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint; SAP preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Experience in a fast paced, flexible environment
  • Physical Demands: Occasional sitting, climbing/balancing, stooping/twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, push/pull, reaching, and gripping; frequent standing, walking; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; frequently lift/carry up to 25 lbs
  • Environmental Conditions: occasional working at heights, exposure to hazards, working with machinery, frequently working with uneven ground, excessive noise, extreme temperatures, exposure to dust/fumes

Compensation:

  • Compensation for this role is salary and will be based on your experience, skills, and location, with a typical salary range between $89,000 - $129,116.
  • This role is eligible for a targeted annual bonus equal to 10%. Final bonus payouts are determined by both individual and company performance.
