Job Description:

At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Project Manager to join our team out of our office in Montes Claros, Brazil.
 
In this role, you will manage and coordinate activities of technology functions, overseeing the manpower and technical resources in a specific functional area necessary for overall project design development and support. You will also work independently on various projects as assigned by the Department Director.
 
What You'll Do

  • Assess the requirements of a project, break a project into tasks, and coordinate with the Project Manager to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing.
  • Write the scope of work for mechanical/process/electrical/plumbing design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client. User Requirement Specification
  • Assist in the assignment of team personnel to provide engineering and technical support.
  • Determines personnel with the most appropriate individual qualifications.
  • Prepares manpower and cost estimates for team resources as required.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of the team’s work as to engineering quality, compliance with established IPS standards, procedures, codes, and ordinances, adherence to design and project schedules, and provide adequate training,
  • technical and administrative guidance, and instruction to personnel.
  • Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to industry codes.
  • Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze the operation of existing systems.
  • Check the progress of work and alert Project Managers of scope changes or requests for additional services.
  • Manage various personnel functions, including, but not limited to, employee development, performance appraisal, delivery dates and quality
  • Plans and schedules work for the team ensuring the proper and effective distribution of assignments and manpower, space, and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
  • Evaluate and initiate the necessary training for assigned team members to ensure pertinent technical competence, acceptable social/communication skills, and leadership development.
  • Support the Department Director in the maintenance of a Training Log for each employee and provide recommendations for training.
  • Assist in the development and approval of IPS departmental policies and technical standards and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of divisional and inter-departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Prepare regular and special reports and analyses, setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of sales presentations for the project deliverables

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical , food or animal care projects.
  • Experience in BIM modeling.
  • Multidisciplinary management.
  • Fluent in Portugese & English.
  • Based in São Paulo, with mobility to travel when necessary.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
