The Position
The Quality Assurance Department at Milpark Education drives quality assurance and quality enhancement within the institution by creating, enabling and monitoring a culture of academic quality, accountability, effectiveness, efficiency, and continuous improvement and reflection.
The Quality Assurance Officer will primarily support the Head: Quality Assurance in matters specifically related to the maintenance and improvement of Milpark’s internal and external quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in preparing reports, analysing data, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement aligned with Milpark Education’s strategic objectives.
- Providing the Head: Quality Assurance with support and resources in relation to regulatory compliance and quality assurance tasks including the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the institution’s quality assurance framework.
- Informing the Head: Quality Assurance about, and participating in, quality assurance initiatives and workshops, such as benchmarking, best practices and quality improvement projects.
- Assisting the Head: Quality Assurance by preparing for internal and external institutional audits and site visits.
- Assisting in the accreditation and registration processes of external regulatory bodies and professional industry bodies, including the preparation of accreditation and amendment applications for new qualifications and maintaining Milpark’s institutional profile.
- Developing, implementing, reviewing, updating and tracking Milpark’s academic policies and procedures.
- Gathering evidence and keeping record of quality assurance activities and initiatives in the institution.
- Liaising with Milpark’s Academic Committees.
- Serving on Milpark’s Quality Assurance Committee.
- Implement process improvements to enable information sharing and quality assurance as well as cross team collaboration.
Requirements
- A relevant higher education qualification - at minimum a Bachelor’s degree but preferably an Honours degree.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in quality assurance within a higher education environment.
- Strong understanding of South African higher education regulatory frameworks and accreditation processes.
