The Role: 

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Insights leader to shape our pharmaceutical market research and competitive intelligence functions. This role is critical in shaping business decisions through actionable insights derived from both qualitative and quantitative research and competitive intelligence.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into research initiatives.
  • Collect, consolidate, and disseminate business intelligence from various sources such as market research, competitive intelligence, and internal analytics.
  • Competitive Intelligence
    • Drive and own all competitive intelligence activity across the organization.
    • Coordinate competitive intelligence workstream activities, including organizing regular team meetings, distribution of timely updates to key stakeholders, and regular competitive intelligence updates to senior executive team.
    • Identify and lead primary and secondary competitive intelligence collection proactively and in response to ad hoc CI queries.
    • Synthesize competitive intelligence insights at an enterprise level across the organization including Commercial, Medical, Business Development, and Investor Relations.
  • Market Research
    • Lead the pharmaceutical market research function, including regular ATU (Awareness, Trial, Usage) tracking studies and ad hoc qualitative research to address key business questions.
    • Design and execute comprehensive market research plans aligned with the evolving needs of the marketing and sales teams.

Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical market research, competitive intelligence, or related commercial analytics roles.
  • Advanced analytical skills with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong background and understanding of market research methodologies.
  • Experience managing and curating competitive intelligence platforms or databases.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey insights to diverse audiences including executive leadership.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing both qualitative and quantitative market research initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry dynamics, regulatory environment, and commercial practices.
  • Previous oncology and or rare disease experience a plus.

 

Location: Syndax’s corporate office is in New York, NY.

 

Syndax offers a total compensation and rewards package that is among the most competitive in the industry. Base pay is just one element of our package and is determined within a range based on several factors including market data, experience, qualifications, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, travel requirements and internal equity. Our overall package also includes an equity offering, annual target bonuses, and an outstanding benefits program. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $195,000 - $212,000.
