SUMMARY
Assists in coordinating and participates in food production and service by preparing quality kosher meals, according to menus, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Maintains the department according to established rules and regulations.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and sanitary department, with attention paid to cleanliness.
- Assist in inventorying in-coming supplies, examines supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications and assists with storage.
- Check food supplies for next meal.
- Reviews and develops recipes based on type of food to be prepared according to therapeutic diets.
- Follows standardized menus and special diet orders.
- Cooks or otherwise prepares food according to recipe following the laws of kosher cooking.
- Checks special trays to ensure they are correct.
- Delivers meals to resident floors (pantries) and may, in case of emergency, be asked to serve meals.
- Reports equipment needs and supplies needed to the Director.
- Participate in in-service programs and attend daily production meetings.
