Blue Heron Programs is seeking a skilled and compassionate Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice at the top of your certification scope, with a strong emphasis centered on the belief that every person deserves a life of connection and purpose.
As a BCBA at Blue Heron Programs, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of behavior analytic services. You will work both remotely and in person, traveling from your home to in person locations in Roseville, Rancho Cordova, Sacramento/Elk Grove, and Davis. This position is ideal for a BCBA who values consistency, daytime-only hours, and a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing clients: Observing clients in their natural environments to assess their behavior challenges and person-centered goals. Conducting and interpreting assessments, including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and skills assessments
- Creating treatment plans: Developing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to help clients overcome challenges, such as autism, cognitive impairment, or behavioral issues.
- Implementing plans: Putting plans into action in the community.
- Monitoring progress: Tracking and adjusting treatment plans as needed, and keeping detailed notes of client progress.
- Communicating: Interacting with clients, families, and support team to ensure proper communication and care.
- Providing support: Providing direct instruction, training, and support to clients, staff, and family members.
- Researching: Learning about new techniques and findings within the ABA field, and applying them to their work.
- Supervising: Supervising and instructing others in the field with lower levels of certification.

- Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
- 5 years of experience providing ABA services (experience with adults preferred)
