Associate Director of Admission Operations and CRM
Position Summary:
The Taft School seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented, and technically proficient admission professional to serve as our inaugural Slate Captain. Working with our database coordinator, this individual will lead the strategic management and daily operations of our Slate CRM, serving as the primary architect and administrator of the system. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience with Slate in an educational context—ideally in a college or independent school setting—and will play a pivotal role in driving data-informed decision-making, improving operational efficiency, and optimizing the admission process.
In addition to CRM responsibilities, this position will include select admission officer duties, including interviewing prospective students, evaluating applications, reading files, participating in admission committees, and representing Taft at a limited number of off-campus recruitment events.
Key Responsibilities:
Slate CRM Management & Strategy (60–70%)
Serve as the lead administrator and strategic owner of Slate for the Admission Office.
Design and maintain workflows, portals, forms, rules, email campaigns, dashboards, and reports to support recruitment, application processing, and enrollment analytics.
Collaborate with the Dean of Enrollment Management and other team members to design and implement communications plans, event management structures, and territory reporting systems within Slate.
Ensure data integrity, compliance, and best practices around data hygiene and secure user access.
Provide Slate training and documentation for Admission Office staff, and serve as the liaison to Technolutions and relevant campus partners.
Continually assess and improve Slate functionality to meet the evolving needs of the office.
Admission Duties (30–40%)
Conduct interviews with prospective students and their families, serving as a representative of Taft’s mission, values, and programs.
Read and evaluate application materials, presenting applicants to the Admission Committee and participating in decision-making.
Represent The Taft School at a limited number of recruitment events, school visits, and fairs during the fall travel season.
Support on-campus admission events such as revisit days, open houses, and information sessions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in an admission or enrollment management role, preferably with significant experience as a Slate user or administrator.
Deep understanding of Slate CRM system architecture and tools, including communications, events, forms, query building, rules, and reports.
Proficiency in data management and analysis, with a strong eye for detail and user experience.
Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate across teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, 12-month position based on-site in Watertown, Connecticut. Some evening and weekend hours are required. The Taft School offers a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
