About the Role:

The Specialist, Data Entry plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of educational data within our institution. This position is responsible for the meticulous input, verification, and maintenance of student records, course information, and administrative data to support academic and operational functions. The Specialist will collaborate closely with various departments to gather and update data, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements. By maintaining high-quality data, this role directly contributes to informed decision-making and the overall efficiency of educational services. The Specialist will also identify and resolve data discrepancies, supporting continuous improvement in data management processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Proven experience in data entry or administrative support, preferably within an educational or similar environment.
  • Proficiency with data management software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling large volumes of data.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with student information systems (SIS) or educational databases (COPA).
  • Basic understanding of educational terminology and academic processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience in generating reports and data analysis to support decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter and update student enrollment, attendance, and academic records into designated databases and information systems.
  • Verify data for completeness and correctness, identifying and correcting errors or inconsistencies in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive educational and personal information in compliance with institutional and legal standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data entry procedures and best practices to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.

Skills:

The Specialist, Data Entry utilizes strong attention to detail and organizational skills daily to ensure that all educational data is accurately recorded and maintained. Proficiency in data management software and Microsoft Excel enables efficient handling and manipulation of large datasets, facilitating timely updates and reporting.
